Microgrids: Things to Know

The term 'microgrid' denotes a small power grid that is able to function on its own despite being connected to the national grid for backup. Many municipalities in New Jersey contain rural areas which are often not entirely connected to the national grid, and their electricity services suffer as a result.

Currently, there are multiple bills on the floor in the New Jersey State Assembly and Senate to promote the use of microgrids to help more New Jerseyans.
